In order to use a personal computer on the Priory
network, the criteria below must be met. Student Info: Student Name (First/Last): Date HS Graduation Year: Priory Technology staff must verify the following information: Computer Information: Computer Manufacturer and Model: __________________________________________ Serial Number: _______________________________________________ Computer Operating System: Windows XP or Vista Mac OS X 10.2-10.5 Linux or other Unix-based system. Anti Virus: At this time, Antivirus is not required on Apple or Linux (Unix) systems. On Windows computers, an Antivirus program with a registered
subscription that expires after July 1st of 2009 is required. Symantec/Norton McAfee AVG at grisoft.com Trend Micro PC-Cillin Other Expiration Date : Priory Technology Policy Students are responsible for abiding by the policies in the handbook. Students are responsible for the network activities of personal computers, including, but not limited to, preventing other computers from working properly, contracting viruses, viewing inappropriate websites and use by other people. The Priory Technology Department reserves the right to ensure unregistered computers do not connect to the Priory network. Students are not permitted, even with their own equipment, to interfere with Priory computers or networks. Network services are monitored and repaired weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., when school is in session. Weekday hours are extended during Study Hall. Network interruptions may occur due to loss of power or problems with Internet connections from off campus. Priory Technology staff assists resident students, at the beginning of the year, with network setup and printer access. Repair and maintenance of personal computers and peripherals is the responsibility of the owner (a 3-year warranty is recommended for laptop computers.) |
